Message
The Board of Trustees proudly congratulates Superintendent Dr. Norma Fernandez
for ensuring continued leadership and stability for the Jersey City Public School
District through the accomplishments achieved during the 2025-2026 school year.
Board Trustees
While this year presented significant challenges, Dr. Fernandez, her leadership team,
and the Board of Trustees worked collaboratively to meet those challenges with
determination and success. Despite political changes and ongoing challenges
related to inadequate state funding, Jersey City Public Schools continued to make
measurable progress across each of the District's Strategic Plan priorities during the
2025–2026 school year. These accomplishments reflect the resilience, dedication,
and shared vision of our entire school community.
The Board of Trustees remains steadfast in its commitment to supporting the district
and ensuring that every scholar receives a high-quality, equitable education in a
safe, secure, and nurturing learning environment. Throughout the year, the Board
undertook numerous initiatives to fulfill this mission. A sincere appreciation to every
Trustee for their unwavering dedication and commitment to the scholars of Jersey
City Public Schools and the entire district. Our continued collaboration helped
ensure that every scholar received the support and opportunities needed to reach
their fullest potential.

Most importantly, we celebrate the scholars of Jersey City Public Schools. Your hard
work, perseverance, and achievements continue to inspire us. Thank you for another
outstanding school year. Your success is the reason we remain committed to this
important work, and we are incredibly proud of each and every one of you.
We extend special recognition to Ishaan Gupta for representing Jersey City Public
Schools on the national stage by earning Second Place in the 2026 National
Spelling Bee—an extraordinary accomplishment that brought tremendous pride to
our district.
To the Class of 2026, congratulations on reaching this important milestone.. Always
remember: "You Are One Of Us!"

The Board of Trustees sincerely thanks Dr. Norma Fernandez, the district’s senior
leadership team, school administrators, teachers, support staff, all Jersey City Public
School personnel, and recognizes the invaluable partnership of families, community,
and all stakeholders for uniting around one common purpose: ensuring the success
of every Jersey City Public Schools scholar. Together, we have accomplished much,
and together, we look forward to another year of excellence, innovation, and
opportunity.
